NCC is a Tri-Services Organisation and engaged in grooming the youth in India to become patriotic citizens. NCC training offers many benefits to the trainees.NCC training program is open to the students of schools and colleges. It's a voluntary program and any student can join it. This program teaches students to follow a disciplined life. After attending a minimum of 75% of NCC training, the students get a certificate from NCC according to their level. These certificates help the students to in their career.

During the training of NCC, candidates get the basic military training. This training is conducted to develop the interest of young students in all three forces; the army, the navy and the air force of India. NCC offers the platform to the students so that they could check their abilities to join the Indian Defence Services. That's why one of the benefits of the NCC certificate is that the candidate gets some relaxation during army selection. According to the National Cadet Crops, the main aim of NCC is to create an organized, trained and motivated youth. With this aim, NCC not only creates soldiers for the nation but it also develops the leadership skills in the youth.

Benefits of NCC

NCC 'C' certification offers 10 - 15 bonus marks in the recruitment process of paramilitary forces, i.e., BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB etc. written exam will be waived off for the post of Soldier GD for candidates having NCC 'C' certificate.The Cadets are exempted from CDS examination conducted by UPSC and get a direct entry into SSB. The Cadets should have an 'A' or 'B' grade in 'C' certificate examination. Also, preference is given to B & C certificate holders in Defence Services, Police services, Paramilitary forces, Fire forces, BSF, Territorial Army, Industrial Security Forces, Public Sectors, and all uniform services. 60 Engineering Seats, 16 Medical Seats, 6-7% of Post-graduation seats are reserved for NCC cadets in most of the Indian Universities. Seat reservation for NCC cadets in engineering, medical seats and post-graduationcourses are available in most of the Indian Universities.

NCC at VPT

Approval for NCC unit at VPT has been obtained in 2021 and the first-yearstudents of the academic year 2021-2022 are the first batch to be enrolled. Mr. Arivazhagan has been appointed as the Associate NCC Officer (ANO). 18 students from each year (Total of 54 students) will be trained from the college.
